Treatment of Lazy Eye (Amblyopia) in Children

When a child has a vision issue and is not diagnosed and treated timely and properly, it results in Lazy Eye (Amblyopia). Lazy Eye does not respond to eyeglasses and vision could not be improved.

Treatment: Amblyopia is treatable if diagnosed and treated timely and properly. Below are some treatment measures:

  1. Eyeglasses
  2. Patching
  3. Causative Treatment (removing underlying cause)

Prevention: To prevent Amblyopia and diagnose vision loss causes, a child need to be screened at 3-4 months and 2-3 years of age by the Eye Specialist.
