Eye Care Tips
Eye care tips play a significant role in the protection of the eyes and if not considered, it may result in vision dimness or loss. Below are essential eye protection tips:
- If you face sun or other rays, computer or other screens for long, chemicals, metal particles or other similar things, wear appropriate glasses.
- Adjust the brightness of your devices to a comfortable level so that it does not hamper your eyes.
- Avoid reading/studying or usage of electronic devices screens i.e. mobile phone, computer etc. for long time; and rest your eyes by using “20-20-20” principle (after each 20 minutes of reading or using screens, relax your eyes for at least 20 seconds by looking at distance around 20 feet).
- Eat foods, vegetables and fruits that contain Vitamin A, E and C like milk and dairy, egg, fish, liver, sunflower oil, carrot, pumpkin, potato, maize, lemon, green vegetables, fresh and dry fruits i.e. orange, kiwi, strawberry, date, mango, almond etc.
- Do not rub your eyes with uncleaned fingers or towels.
- Avoid contact/touch or hand shake with a person having eye infection symptoms i.e. redness, discharges, watering etc. Also, avoid using towels or materials used by the person.
- Take your child to eye specialist for check up at the age of 3-4 months and 2-3 years.
- If you have Diabetes or High Blood Pressure, try to keep it controlled and visit eye specialist for check-up at least in 6 months.
- If you have vision dimness due to Refractive Error, get your vision checked at least after 6 months.
- Get your eyes checked by the eye specialist at least once in a year even if you feel you do not have any eye problem so that if you have a hidden eye disease it is diagnosed timely.
